Ac Ace Colours
We are aiming for Blue Metaline that was a fine metallic but it is impossible to actually find the colour from any reference - Here you will find our journey on trying to establish the right colour. I have been chatting with my friends that work at a body shop and so far no references throw up any colours so it looks like we might be doing this one by eye.
Option A: Bright Blue Metaline with Red Leather Interior
Below you can see some of our early workings to discover the colour we want. There is no actual reference for Silver Blue Metaline available. So the closet we can get is the Guardsmans Blue.
AC Ace Sky Blue Metallic
This is the colour scheme as we would like to see on our AC ACE if we go for the Blue/Red combination
Our Choice of colour if we go with the blue
A friend had a colour panel done from an AC paint chip. It is a variant of Guardsman's Blue that was the Cobra colour and as close to Blue Metaline as we can get. It is a great blue that changes in the light with a very fine metallic finish. You can see the different blues in different lights.
Other Blue/Red references
As you can see, there are many colour varients when it comes to an AC Blue for teh ACE!
Another colour option we like is the Jaguar Sherwood Green with a Louis Vitton period yellow for the interior.
An unusual choise we agree but the AC factory would paint a car in any colour you liked and it has been said that the colour of 'Sherwood Green' is the best colour for showing off a cars curves. I personally like the 1950's Louis Vitton yellow used in thier leather bag designs as it is a little more exotic and luxurios than the ususal oat/beige leather that accompanies green paint. The yellow is often seen in Bugattis and other exotics! Picture below is a very rough mock-up and not the actual colours but gives the general idea.
