AC ACE cooling Fan
The pictures below shows the difference in shaft length between our AC fan and the one requited for the ACE ACE. On the AC ACE it is a lot further forward. Go through the pictures below to see the fan in detail.
Many thanks to Will Mahany for taking the detailed pictures you will find below. It is hopeful that we can copy the fan to get a new one cast using a lighter alloy than the original. Will stated his was heavy and he was going over to an electric fan for better cooling and lighter weight. I like the look of the original and as we will not be racing ours, weight is not too much of an issue for us. So a copy it is. I will be creating 2 . One for our project and one to sit on the shelf as a pattern for another AC ACE project for someone else.

The fans cast by Manor Foundry
Manor Foundry are brilliant. They get the job done at an agreed price and beat your expectations. You can see the finished castings below and some pictures against the original item. We will now finish these fans with a good polish etc.
AC ACE Cooling Fan Bracket and pulleys.
We are getting there. The brackets have now been fabricated and work well. I elected to use a bearing although the grease nipple has been retained.

Bracket and fan assembled
The pictures show a dry fit to make sure everything aligns. The cast fan had rough edges in the casting so it had to be put in a machine to make the inner circle that the bracket locates in to fit perfectly. The threads for the 4 bolts that secure the fan on are quarter inch Whitworths at half an inch in length.
Paint on the central bracket
Primed and sanded with a 2500 grit ready for the black gloss finish.
